Firewise is a National program that encourages communities to reduce the risk of home ignitions from Wildfires. The principles are to harden homes, reduce fire intensity near the structures, and create defensible space around a home’s exterior for firefighter access.
It is a program of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) administered locally through assistance by the Scottsdale Fire Department, in partnership with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (ADFFM).
